Hilary Nierenberg, M.S., A.N.P., is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Nursing at Columbia University School of Nursing and the Director of the Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Program at the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center.
Ms. Nierenberg has extensive patient care experience in a variety of cardiovascular settings and spent five years conducting clinical research in the Cardiovascular Anaesthesia Department at The Toronto Hospital in Canada. Prior to joining NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia, she was a nurse practitioner in interventional cardiology at Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute, where she developed the MARCH Program ?Äîa comprehensive cardiovascular risk assessment program for the interventional cardiology population.
Ms. Nierenberg's clinical interests include management of complex dyslipidemias and smoking cessation in patients with established coronary artery disease. She is frequently invited to lecture on the management of cardiovascular risk factors and is actively involved in quality improvement initiatives for patients with acute myocardial infarction and heart failure. In addition, she has completed several lipid management preceptorship programs and serves as a clinical preceptor and mentor for nurse practitioner students.
A board certified adult nurse practitioner, Ms. Nierenberg has co-authored multiple scientific abstracts and publications. She has been a faculty member of Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics Nurse Technologist Symposium since 2002 and is serving as a course director in 2005.
Ms. Nierenberg, who received her Bachelorâ??s and Master's degrees from Columbia University, is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International and a clinical care associate of the American College of Cardiology.
